14 things we learned from Amy Poehler's visit to Trinity

Happy Amy Day, everybody.

TODAY, AMY POEHLER visited Trinity College and was honoured with the Gold Medal of Honorary Patronage.

People who were lucky enough to snag a ticket to the event were treated to singalongs and Huberman sighting. Those of us who weren’t had to follow the whole thing on Twitter.

Here’s what we learned.

1. This was the queue to see her

WE LOVE YOU, AMY.

2. She did not arrive in a horse-drawn carriage, despite being a certified queen

Instead, she arrived in a car like a regular human being and was greeted by throngs of loving fans.

3. She’s basically a rock star

4. Amy Huberman and Amy Poehler are now happily married

Okay, not really, but this Meeting of the Amys will surely live on in our nation’s history.

5. That photo understandably sent Twitter over the edge

6. This was how small the room was

So intimate!

Lucky ducks.

7. As for the talk itself? Well, she was raging that she missed #YokeTuesday

She gets us! She really gets us!

8. AND HE INITIATED A GODDAMNED SINGALONG OF NOTHING COMPARES 2 U

Can you imagine anything more perfect?

You can watch the magic here. (Warning: it will make you grin like an idiot.)

Some people were caught out with the lyrics, though.

9. She discussed her rationale behind creating Amy Poehler’s Smart Girls, an online community for girls

10. If the whole comedy thing doesn’t work out for her, she has a career in motivational speaking

Look!

And if you’re ever feeling discouraged, let Amy’s word echo in your ears.

Just. Stick. At. It.

11. She answered questions about comedy being a boy’s club like a boss

12. People who saw it are so happy they could die

13. And those who didn’t get to go are considering watching The Late Late Show in case she shows up on it by some miracle

A true testament to the power of the Poehler.

14. In short, March 13th will henceforth be known as Amy Poehler Day
